Just another man in uniform who died for the cause. I was asked to speak at his services....Y'know, when I was standing there looking down at the coffin, wondering about the remains inside, I realized another inch or two to the left and I would have been shot in the heart rather than having a bullet lodged between the ribs. It very easily could have been me lying there -- coming home some sixty two years later… another man in uniform who died for the cause.
